As I am sitting down to write this, Dakota is pawing at the back door to go out. It never ends...
I have lived in southern California my entire 28 years of existence (BTW, Dakota now wants back in). I have a BSEE from UCLA and MSEE from CSUN and work in the Aerospace industry. For the last two years I have been trying to get into MBA school. Last year I applied to Harvard and Wharton just in case they needed a good candidate who fit my mediocre profile. I also applied to UCLA's FEMBA program as a more realistic option. I got dinged by all three. I guess a 2.78 undergraduate GPA isn't impressive; although I thought my 700 GMAT was pretty good.
Since I can't change my undergraduate GPA, I decided to put significant effort this year into rewriting all my UCLA essays and really trying to highlight my accomplishments and potential as a leader. Hopefully my effort will payoff and I will hear good news in the next few weeks. If it doesn't pan out I suppose I will go back to focusing on grind.
Speaking of the grind, I am one of those fortunate souls who get to enjoy the 405 every weekday. My commute takes about forty-five minutes at 5:45 AM and an hour and a half anytime after 3:00 PM. In between my joyous times on the 405 I work as a ... Well, I'm not quite sure what to call it. I do a little bit of Systems Engineering, a little bit of Software Engineering, a little bit of Software Project Management, a little bit of Marketing, and a whole lot of Fire Fighting and mopping up.
